FAQS

is molly a certified fundraiser?
Yes, Molly attended the Lilly school for Philanthropy through Indiana University/Perdue University at Indianapolis (IUPUI) and earned a Certificate of Fund Raising Management. Her skill areas included Principles & Techniques of Fundraising,  Annual Sustainability, Developing Major Gifts, Capital Campaigns, and Planned Giving.
can molly help me with a capital campaign?
Yes! First step is the Readiness Assessment. From there, if you're ready, we can talk about options for getting your Capital Campaign off the ground and selecting the right consulting team to guide your campaign. If not, the Readiness Assessment gives you a clear idea of areas to work on to GET ready for your campaign.
is molly experienced in working with non-profits?
Absolutely! Her whole career has been spent as a Supervisor and Director in successful non-profit organizations and she has mentored, trained, and supported countless others through her consulting and volunteer work.
Has Molly done board training before?
Yes! Molly loves to work with boards, and understands from both sides of the coin what it is like to serve a board and serve ON a board. Being a board member has a unique set of responsibilities and the #1 training topic in non-profits is how to work with boards better or get boards to work better. Molly understands both sides of this issue and is ready to help! Board training, clear expectations, communication structures, and support for the Executive Director and staff all go together to create a smooth working relationship. Lets get started!
Molly's goal is afforability for small non-profits?
Non-profits that are struggling are usually told: You Need to Raise More Money. This feels impossible to an already challenged and exhausted staff, and sets up the non-profit for struggle.  Covering the cost of a consultant can eat into the funds that a  non-profit needs to do the important community work they are designed for. But, you do need help, so lets work out a solution together that has the best impact for your situation.
does molly still teach customer service and civility training?
Yes! These topics were the cornerstone of Molly's early consulting and training years, and a topic she greatly loves. She developed her own Civility Training module - designed out of the NEED she saw in the organizations she worked with for customer service - and created this to go hand-in-hand with the customer service training. Staff enjoy this training and leave feeling supported, heard, and rejuvenated. Remember - customer service burnout IS REAL, and the proper tools can help get your team back on track.
when did molly start fundraising?
Molly started fundraising in 2001 through her position at a regional nature center and in 2003 found herself in the middle of a Capital Campaign to raise $1.5 Million Dollars! Luckily, she had a fantastic Board Chair and a wonderful local Philanthropist as the Campaign Chair to teach her all the ropes and show her the best way to do a campaign. From there, her love of fundraising grew! This is a story to be told over a cup of coffee...
Does molly offer a 20-minute exploration call?
Yes! Lets Talk! Sometimes a phone call is all you need to feel centered and ready to tackle your challenges. Sometimes you need more, and we can explore that together.
WHat is the Famous pep talk?
Over the years, many people have approached Molly feeling defeated, scared, overwhelmed and unhappy. The current national average for development professionals to stay in their positions is 18-months! (Far too short to build meaningful donor relationships!) So, when people say "can you just give me a pep talk?" or "what is the one thing I can do to get started", the "Pep Talks" began and became "Famous".
